HGR Journal Entry No. 086 - Balian Returns!!!

Me and BattleCaptain went to Galle for an early valentines date, hehehehe, arriving at 11am, set-up the tables and started an early battle....

Game 1: 2000pts- Luna Wolves (BattleCaptain) vs Hive Fleet Conqueror (Kuneho) - Planet 6
Mission: Seize Ground(5 counters)
Deployment: Pitch Battle
Result: Draw (2 counters each)

Summary:
We played for full 7, hard fought turns, with Luna Wolves taking the first turn. He took down 4 carnifexes at the end of the 3rd turn, but the hive fleet continues to advance. A Hive tyrant took down Luna wolves' terminator squad but Hestan and his 6 assault termies took down one of the Tyrant squad.

The Conqueror counter charged with the 2nt tyrant squad and a full genestealer brood, with total of 9 rending wounds and 9 regular wounds, reducing his Assault termies to 1 plus Hestan, who fell back after losing the combat and chased by the ripper swarms and never regrouped. the game ends with with both 2 counters each.


Game 2: 2000pts- Chaos Daemons (Mickie) vs Ultramarines (Deadeye)
Mission: Annihilation
Deployment: Pitch Battle
Result: Mickie Wins! (9-6)

Summary:
As always, the daemons kept pressing the marines in assault, as turn by turn, daemons kept on arriving. The ultramarines stood their ground firing at every daemons that arrived and assauled it for the finish... Marnius Calgar led the marines into battle, but he fell in the hands of the Bloodthirster when he tried to aid one of the marines squad held in close combat.

The daemons continued its rampage, took down the Ultramarines 1 by 1...


Game 3: 1500pts- Dark Angels (Balian) vs Or'es Tash'n (Martie)
Mission: Capture and Control
Deployment: Dawn of War
Result: Balian Victorious! (2-0)

Summary:
The Tau took the first turn deploying only his Crisis team HQ, hidden at the back of one of the ruins, doing much damage as it can on the rushing assault squad. The Or'es Tash'n kroots outflanked the devastator squad and held it off until reinforcments arrived. But the tau resererves came in one by one as the Dark angels killed everything that arrives. Balian is back...

Game 4: 2000pts- Chaos Daemons (Mickie) vs Hive Fleet Conqueror (Kuneho) - Planet 6
Mission: Capture and Control
Deployment: Pitch Battle
Result: Kuneho Wins! (1-0)

Summary:
The daemons went for the first turn, spawning daemons after daemons, trying to devour the Devourer. The Favored Ones entered the field, summoned near the Hive's outpost. Pressed by the daemons attack, the Hive tactically fell back, using its firepower advantage before they make the counter assault. One of the Tyrant squad killed, with implanted attacks, the raging blood thirster before it went down, while the other tyrant squad took down a demon prince but was slained by the rampage of the blood crushers. Tit for tat battle went on. When the summoning stops, the tyranids went for the kill. The genestealers killed a blood crusher squad and moved on to its assault to take the objective secured by the horror squad.

The game ends in the 5th turn....

Game 5: 2000pts- Luna Wolves (BattleCaptain) vs Chaos demons (Mickie)
Mission: Seize Ground(5 counters)
Deployment: Spearhead
Result: BattleCaptain Wins!(Tap out)

Summary:
The Luna Wolves was prepared for a daemon assault as daemonhunters joined them to battle. The Luna Wolves was thirsty for revenge after one of their company fell from last weeks assault. The Luna Wolves was kept in sanctuary and was remained untouched, not even a foul breath of the demons stained the Luna Wolves' battle armor. One by one, the daemons fell, returned back into the warp....

Game 6: 2000pts- Dark Angels (Balian) vs Space Wolves (Henri)
Mission: Capture and Control
Deployment: Pitch Battle
Result: Draw (1-1)

Summary:
Battle tilted from one side to the other.... Henri could have won had the game ended on after the 5th turn, Balian could have won if the game ended after the 6th... fittingly the game ended in a draw after the 7th and final turn.
